US Army Tanks from Destroy All Humans! Remake.

Tanks are enemy vehicles deployed by the Military against Crypto.

They appear in Destroy All Humans!, Destroy All Humans! 2 and Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon, with their appearance and behavior varying on the setting.

Overview[]

Fairly consistently, Tanks only spawn at very high Alert Levels or during missions, and can be a significant threat to Crypto, especially when he is fighting on foot as opposed to in the Saucer.

Tanks are some of the strongest land-enemies aside from bosses, but with a well aimed Ion Detonator, a few blasts from any Saucer Weapon, or continuous firing of a fully upgraded Zap-O-Matic/Disintegrator Ray, they can be destroyed like any other vehicle. Additionally, the Abduct-O-Beam can be used to drop them into bodies of water, which will also neutralize them.

Appearances By Game[]

Destroy All Humans![]

In Destroy All Humans!, M26 Pershing Tanks with the US Flag emblazoned on them appeared during the third alert level. Their powerful blasts could take out half of Crypto's shield with each hit. However, Tanks could be destroyed with an Ion Detonator. If Crypto got close enough, a machine gun on the Tank then also started to shoot.

In the Remake, the tanks are instead based off the M24 Chaffee.

Destroy All Humans! 2[]

DAH2 Reprobed Tank Variations by Joel Belin

Concept art of various tanks in Destroy All Humans! 2 Reprobed

In Destroy All Humans! 2, Tanks appeared to be M48 Pattons with a modified turret with two guns. On the ground, they used only one gun. However, if Crypto was in his Saucer, they fired both. Unlike in Destroy All Humans!, they could not use their machine guns, and were unable to harm Crypto if he got too close to one of them.

Regular Tanks appeared in Bay City, Albion, Takoshima, and Tunguska, with each area's Tanks having different visual designs. High-tech Maser Tanks also make an appearance at high alert levels in Takoshima and Tunguska.

The Tanks in Destroy All Humans! 2 are aided by SAM Launchers and, in some locations, Maser Tanks. Instead of arriving at the third alert level, as in the original Destroy All Humans!, Tanks in Destroy All Humans! 2 only turn up at the orange alert level, equivalent to the fourth in Destroy All Humans!

In the Reprobed edition, the tank's chassis now resembles that of a M60 Patton's, while the turret resembles that of a Centurion's.
