The HoloPox Unit was a device that was created by Orthopox. It served as a hologram projector through which Pox and Crypto communicated.
History
In Destroy All Humans!, Pox used that hologram projector to keep in touch with Crypto on Earth while he stayed on the Furon Mothership. In Destroy All Humans! 2, just before the Mothership was destroyed, Pox was able to download his brain into the holopod. Pox remained in his virtual state while he aided Crypto throughout the game and also demonstrated an ability to talk with Crypto while inside the computer of the Saucer, which Pox stayed in when he did not travel around in his unit. Gastro, former janitor and cook on the Mothership, also managed to escape death when the Mothership blew up and downloaded his mind into a holopod. Gastro appeared as a weapon in Crypto's Weapons that Crypto fired from a rifle: the Gastro Gun. Gastro's holopod had a chain gun-like weapon that was fitted on it. When he ran out of ammo, Gastro self-destructed. In Destroy All Humans! Big Willy Unleashed, it was revealed that Crypto had bought the holopod some place 158 parsecs from Earth. In Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon, Pox was fitted with a new and upgraded HoloPox Unit and his mind became a bit off edge and "woozy" from being without a body for 15+ years. At that point, Pox just wanted to get the DNA and go home in order to be re-cloned. Pox later got a new body, which was mistakenly that of a Furon Monkey.
Overview
Crypto carried the HoloPox Unit around with him. Whenever Pox was seen on it, only his head and cranial cords were visible. The Original HoloPox Unit had three metal beams that spun around it as it floated. The new one floated without the aid of the spinning beams and had three arms that allowed Pox to pick up objects.
